Women photographers have captured some of the most iconic images of the 20th century. If you've ever flipped through the glossy pages of Vanity Fair you've probably seen photographs taken by Annie Liebovitz. And almost everyone is familiar with Dorothea Lange's famous photo Migrant Mother depicting a mother and her young children during the Great Depression. Margaret Bourke-White was a pioneer in capturing images of the New York city skyline as well as images of rural America. We've set up a display of some of the great female photographers in the big display case in the library. Take the time to check out some of these beautiful and haunting photographs captured through the unique lens of women photographers. Don't forget to check out the Mass Art photography show in the Dana Hall Art Gallery on January 11th from 5:00 to 7:30.
Feeling inspired? You can check out digital and film cameras from the library and create your own photography portfolio!
